HSBC appoints Christopher Adams as director of Global Asset Management
Prior to joining HSBC, Mr Adams was Vice President for BlackRock’s Asia ex Japan active equity capability.
HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Christopher Adams as Director, Senior Product Specialist, Equities, with immediate effect.
Based in Hong Kong, Mr Adams is responsible for supporting the firm’s Asian equity capability, including Greater China equities. He reports locally to Alfred Yip, Head of Product, Asia-Pacific, and functionally to Melissa McDonald, Global Head of Product – Equities and Responsible Investment.

Christopher’s strong background and experience come as a great complement to the team. He will work closely with our investment team regionally and business teams globally to enhance the level of communications and support for our Asian ex Japan equity strategies and products. His ability to clearly articulate our process, views, and positions will play a key role in defining and championing our offering in this space.”
Prior to joining HSBC, Mr Adams was Vice President, Product Specialist for BlackRock’s Asia ex Japan active equity capability. Before that, he held similar roles in Prudential Asset Management, Hong Kong. Mr Adams also has solid experience in sales, investment consulting and managing client relationships. He holds dual Bachelor degrees in Arts and Economics from the Australian National University, Canberra, and is a CFA Charterholder.
In July 2011, HSBC Global Asset Management also relocated Geoffrey Lunt from London to Hong Kong to take up the role of Director, Senior Product Specialist for fixed income.
