DBS has partnered with The Sandbox, a decentralized gaming virtual world, to create DBS BetterWorld, an interactive metaverse experience.

Under the partnership, DBS will acquire a 3x3 plot of LAND – a unit of virtual real estate in The Sandbox metaverse – which will be developed with immersive elements.

The partnership makes DBS the first Singapore bank to foray into the metaverse, the bank said.

DBS BetterWorld aims to showcase the importance of building a better, more sustainable world, Singapore’s biggest bank by assets said in a press release.
