CIMB teams up with DHL to mitigate 20% of air shipments’ carbon emissions

CIMB will roll out the programme in its Malaysia and Singapore operations.

Malaysian bank CIMB Group has joined DHL Express’ GoGreen Plus programme, enabling CIMB to mitigate up to 20% of the bank’s carbon emissions for international air shipments.

CIMB will be able to use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for its international air shipments via DHL Express,according to the press release.

In particular, it will enable CIMB to mitigate its Scope 3 carbon emissions, according to Gurdip Singh Sidhu, CEO of CIMB Malaysia and CIMB Bank Berhad.

CIMB will deploy the programme in Malaysia and Singapore.

Launched in February 2023, GoGreen Plus is one of DHL’s initiatives to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, which is made possible by three of the most significant SAF agreements with bp, Neste, and World Energy.

The air freight network accounts for around 70 percent of the company's carbon footprint, so sustainable air transportation solutions are crucial for greener logistics, according to DHL.
